Axletrack Pty Ltd (ABN 94 108 395 624) ("we", "us", "our", "Axletrack") operates the Axletrack application and website at axletrack.com.au (together, the "App").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using Axletrack, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account information: name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form).

Truck configuration information: truck type, axle configuration details, axle spacing measurements, vehicle weight specifications, and load distribution data.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect device information (device type, operating system version); app usage data (features used, session duration, frequency of use); technical data (crash reports, error logs, performance data); and IP address and general location data (country/state level only, not precise GPS location).

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates), photos, videos, or camera access, contacts or address book data, SMS or phone call data, or microphone or audio data.

3. How We Collect Your Information

We collect personal information through direct input when you create an account, configure your truck, or enter load data, and through automated collection when you use the App.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to provide the App's core functionality and process load calculations; create and maintain your user account; send important service notifications, updates, and support responses; analyse usage patterns to improve the App's features and performance; diagnose and resolve technical issues; comply with applicable laws and regulations; detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or security issues; and conduct internal analytics and business planning.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for related purposes you would reasonably expect, unless we have your consent for another purpose.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We may disclose your personal information to trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including Amazon Web Services (Australia) for data storage and app infrastructure, and Microsoft for sending account and service emails.

5.2 Overseas Disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process data overseas, including in the United States and Ireland. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your personal information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights or safety, protect the rights or safety of our users or the public, or prevent or investigate fraud or security issues.

5.4 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via email and/or a prominent notice in the App.

5.5 What We Do Not Do With Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, share your personal information for third-party marketing purposes, use your truck configuration or load data for any purpose other than providing the App's services, or share your personal information with other Axletrack users.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Security measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption of sensitive data at rest, secure password storage (hashed and salted), regular security assessments, access controls, and secure hosting infrastructure.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account password secure, not sharing your login credentials, and notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active, as needed to provide the App's services, or as required by law.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain by law, aggregated de-identified data that cannot identify you personally, and information necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

8. Your Rights

8.1 Access You can request access to the personal information we hold about you by contacting info@axletrack.com.au. We will respond within 30 days at no charge for reasonable requests.

8.2 Correction You can update most information directly in the App's account settings. For other corrections contact info@axletrack.com.au.

8.3 Deletion You can request deletion of your account and personal information via the "Delete Account" option in the App settings or by contacting info@axletrack.com.au. Once deleted, your information cannot be recovered.

8.4 Opt-Out of Communications You can opt out of non-essential communications by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email we send. You cannot opt out of essential service communications such as account security alerts or changes to Terms of Service.

9. Children's Privacy

Axletrack is intended for commercial truck operators aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you believe we have collected information from someone under 18, please contact us at info@axletrack.com.au.

10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App does not use cookies but may use similar technologies such as device identifiers for analytics and app functionality.

Our website (axletrack.com.au) may use cookies for essential functions, analytics, and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, however disabling certain cookies may limit functionality.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via email at least 30 days before significant changes take effect, and the updated policy will be posted in the App and on our website. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
